We started this because we were tired of apologising for our own home.
It started with a rescue dog named Miso and a rug I probably loved too much. Miso came to us anxious, seven years old, and completely unimpressed by the concept of “outside”. For months I did the thing so many of us do: I scrubbed quietly, I lit candles before guests arrived, and I let people believe our home was the calm, sunlit version you see in pet ads.
It was exhausting — not the cleaning, the pretending. Somewhere between the third enzyme spray that only smelled like flowers and the fourth disposable pad that soaked through, I realised the products weren’t the only problem. The whole category talks to pet parents like accidents are a personal failure you should quietly fix and never mention.
So we built the opposite. NoMorePawblems is a small Canadian shop for the unglamorous parts of loving an animal: the puddles, the odours, the litter that travels three rooms, the marking that shows up right after you finally relax. Everything we stock has to actually work in a real, lived-in home — and everything we write has to sound like a friend who has been there, not a brochure.
Every pet parent has a story. Yours doesn’t need an apology attached.
